version 1.0 (15-04-09)
Ethos:
It’s only a game, games are supposed to be fun. What better way to have fun than to play alongside your friends. With a little effort and commitment to the guild we will all work together to create a gaming environment that is both enjoyable and friendly.
ProEssence as a guild:
We believe in real life friends being the element that makes our guild somewhat unique, it is on this premise that the guild exists, new members will be encouraged to interact with other guild members on a social level as well as the gaming level to establish a rapport with us. If a member requests invites for their friends, we will more than happy to accommodate, all we ask is that new members make an effort to follow the Guild philosophy and stay with us through the good times and bad!
The Guild primary goal is fun, first and foremost. We all want the experience of doing end raids and getting the good gear, but we do not promote a narrow self-fulfilling mindset which would leave out members who are genuinely committed to the Guild, whilst some players will be able to progress faster than others due to personal circumstance we don’t want to hold them back but players that cannot put the same sort of hours in as them shouldn’t feel pressured to keep up.
We do not tolerate moaning or heckling of lower experienced players or players at fault. As a guild we would rather fail a boss or event and have fun doing it, than fail in the presence of animosity towards each other, we were all inexperienced at some point and we all make mistakes from time to time. Verbal abuse and swearing AT members is not permitted. Swearing WITH members is encouraged, it’s all a bit of fun after all (although be mindful that younger members maybe listening)
Professions:
Whilst everyone professions, the Guild tries to provide dedicated professions, which we will always try provide for free to guild members (assuming mats don’t need to be purchased) NO guild member may make a profit from other guild members. However, as a new member to the Guild we wouldn’t expect you to provide trade goods (mats) for free – members may request mats or their equivalent value at their realistic purchase price.
All members will perform any available skill without charge by request from any proven members.
New additions to the Guild may not be entitled to these Guild resources straight away, I’m afraid this is to prevent someone joining the guild just to have something made/enchanted then quitting the Guild.
Any non-adherence or unfair pricing should be made known to Core members.
You will find that most of the core members of the guild will actually provide their skills and mats at no cost to others, this is a practice that we encourage as it helps the Guild progress and it supports the greater good of the Guild. However this practice is generally done on an individual basis, based on trust and Guild standing, in order to prevent abuse of the Guild resources.
The Guild does not support any unfair abuse of trust and reports of abuse will be dealt with severely.
A Guild bank will be maintained by the Core members for enchanting and jewel crafting etc. During instances the Profession “mains” will have priority on Trash drops and any un-needed loot to help build up stock on mats. In the event that a “main” isn’t available ideally trash loot/mats is collected and passed on to the mains. The idea behind this is to create a Guild stockpile of mats which will enable us to provide services to Guild members for free. In addition, once the stockpile is sufficient the excess can be used to help others level professions, it’s always good to have redundancy on profession providers.
Members that have proved their commitment and loyalty to the Guild will be able to withdraw from this bank, as long as it is done in a responsible way.
What the Guild expects of you:
To be honest we don’t ask for much, we understand that members have lives outside of Warcraft and external responsibilities need to take priority over “playing”. All we ask is that our members support and bond with the Guild so we can build a foundation which will ultimately benefit all our members.
We are trying to promote something of a family value, whilst our progression might not be as fast as some of the other Guilds we will reach our goals in the end. The focus is on the Guild and its members working together as a team that support each other.
What can you expect from the guild:
You will find that the more you put into the Guild the more you will get out. We want to employ an ‘everyone-is-included’ practice, regardless of how much time you can put into the game, as long as you have given your best effort for the Guild, you will have access to all aspects and resources the Guild has to offer. You will be treated fairly and rewarded based on your contribution to the organisation and not your popularity and/or social standing.. You’ll be part of a community of friends rather than a group of strangers, where support and guidance is available to you without fear of abuse or oppression.
The future of ProEssence:
As we get more members, we intend to create an elite group, “The Marauders”, that are specifically tasked to run regular Heroic instances and raids on a predetermined schedule, This will allow players with more time constraints to plan time in their personal lives for a specific run. The Marauders will suitably volunteer slots for non Marauders that have signed up to the run whilst attempting to maintain the groups ability to succeed, This will ensure that everyone gets the chance to take part in the end game raids and instances.
